GETTING STARTED

Your first positioning session.

Start with a library setup, then make one adjustment at a time.

Explore in Free mode

  1. Open the lab and wait for the skeleton. The first load includes 3D models and material textures. A desktop or laptop is currently the best starting point.
  2. Choose Open library. Search for a body part or position, read the reference notes, then select Choose this position. The dialog closes and the camera frames the patient. A compatible current receptor is kept; otherwise the recipe selects its default.
  3. Select a part. Click the skeleton picker, click a bone in the room, or use the Part menu. Left, Right, and Bilateral control which side you adjust.
  4. Make an adjustment. Drag a dial, scroll over it, or type a numeric value. Patient and tube changes update the live bone projection.
  5. Review and capture. Move or resize the X-ray viewer. Capture downloads a PNG to your device. It does not save the pose.

Practice a position

  1. Select Practice mode beside the Positionlab title. The patient starts standing near the table and the X-ray viewer is blank. Your Free-mode setup is kept for when you switch back.
  2. Choose a position or select Random. The exercise name stays in the title while you work. Choosing another exercise starts again beside the table.
  3. Position the patient and beam. Use the posture, receptor, patient and tube controls. In Practice, changing the receptor leaves the patient in place.
  4. Select ☢ Expose. The viewer shows a frozen image. Moving the patient or beam afterward does not change that image; select Re-expose to take another.
  5. Select Solution. A library reference image appears beside your latest exposure with an image-match score. Re-exposing clears the old comparison so you can try again.
  6. Select Criteria. Review anatomy coverage, alignment, central ray, collimation and the source notes for this exercise. Reset patient restarts the same exercise with an empty viewer.

The score compares bone-image overlap with the library pose, including alignment and brightness. It is a provisional image-similarity score, not a clinical grade. Library poses and method-specific criteria still need educator validation. Practice images use a neutral display; appearance settings do not change the score. Practice attempts last for the current session and are cleared when leaving Practice mode.

In Free mode, changing the receptor loads its default setup. Loading another library position replaces the current setup. There is currently no undo history or saved-pose library.

Make the workspace comfortable

The compact Settings window has Display adjustments, Sensitivity, Colors, Lighting, and Interface theme. Changes preview immediately. Click Save to retain the open submenu’s settings; Save from the main settings menu retains all settings.

Equipment and skeleton colors can be adjusted while retaining the selected material’s texture detail. Revert to default affects the open category; save afterward if you want to keep the defaults.

Lighting includes Lit floor area, Fade into darkness, and Projector light beam. The floor stays dark at its outer edge throughout the slider ranges. The projector brightness and color are independent of the red lasers. Choose a color preset or a custom beam color. Starting light levels are Ambient 63%, Overhead 63%, Fill 34%, Rim 0%, and Wall wash 69%; the tube does not cast shadows.

Interface theme offers Classic blue, Midnight, Sage, Plum, and Warm sand for the windows and controls. Bone Texture is the default skeleton finish; Colors → Skeleton lets you choose another finish. Minimize the X-ray viewer to dock it in a small box at the lower right; click the box to restore its previous size and position.

Use the red Give Feedback button beside the mode dropdown to send an anonymous message. Feedback is saved privately for weekly review. The form keeps your text if saving fails.

Settings are stored in this browser. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them. They do not follow you to another browser or device. Opening this guide in another tab leaves your lab session open.
